Following on from my Cleaning Lady concept last year, I finally managed to fabricate my Octopus mop. This was an important part of my final piece and something that had to be completed digitally due to the Coronavirus.
This mop was created by moulding a real life Octopus that I bought from Billingsgate market at 4am, moulded in Silicone 3481 and locked in place with a Fibreglass jacket. It was then cast in Silskin 10 Silicone which I pigmented and finished with a light layer of paint.
I wanted the finished look to have very little paint so that the Silicone had a light, jelly like and slippery feel to it.
